The A702 Trunk Road (Penicuik Rideout) (Temporary Prohibition On Use of Road) Order 2017

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, temporarily prohibiting traffic on that length of the A702 Edinburgh - Abington Trunk Road from its junction with the A766 at Penicuik to its junction with the access to the Flotterstone Inn, a distance of 7.3 kilometres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to facilitate the Penicuik Hunter and Lass Rideout event will be in operation from the 27th of May 2017 until the 28th of May 2017. The prohibition on use will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as and when indicated by a police officer in uniform during the period of prohibition. The Order does not apply to vehicles while being used to facilitate the holding of the event or vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, coastguard, ambulance or police purposes but will only have effect in relation to such length(s) of road as indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
