The A737 Trunk Road (Dalry) (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road and Temporary 40mph Speed Restriction) Order 2025

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and 2, 4(1) and 14(1)(b) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will have the effect of temporarily prohibiting traffic and temporarily restricting speed of vehicles to 40 miles per hour on that length of the A737/A738 St James Interchange – Kilwinning – Hawkhill Trunk Road from the southbound exit of the circulatory carriageway of the Highfield Roundabout in a generally south-westerly direction to the circulatory carriageway of the Hillend Roundabout, a distance of 2.4 kilometres or thereby.

The Order, which is required because works are being proposed to be executed on or near the road will be in operation from the 2 November until 11 November 2025 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. 

The Order does not apply to vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes or vehicles being used for carrying out the works.

Statement of Compatibility

In accordance with section 23(2) of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 (the Act), the Scottish Ministers certify that, in their view, the A737 Trunk Road (Dalry) (Temporary Prohibition onUse of Road and 40mph Speed Restriction)Order 2025is compatible with the UNCRC requirements as defined by section 1(2) of the Act.
