The A78 Trunk Road (Gallowgate Street, Largs) (Temporary Prohibition on Waiting and Temporary Prohibition on Loading and Unloading) Order 2020

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 14(1)(a) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, temporary prohibiting on waiting and temporary prohibiting on loading and unloading on the following lengths of road: –

1. That length of the A78 Greenock - Prestwick Trunk Road known as Gallowgate Street, Largs, from its junction with Nelson Street, Largs in a southerly direction to a point 67 metres or thereby south of its junction with Gallowgate Lane, Largs, a distance of 206 metres or thereby.

2. That length of the A78 Greenock - Prestwick Trunk Road known as Gallowgate Street, Largs, from a point 50 metres or thereby north of its junction with Fort Street, Largs in a northerly direction to a point 70 metres or thereby north of its junction with Fort Street, Largs, a distance of 20 metres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to allow footway upgrades will be in operation from the 16 November 2020 until the 29 January 2021 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes or vehicles being used for carrying out the works.
