The A78 Trunk Road (High Street, Greenock) (Temporary Prohibition of Specified Turns) Order 2018

The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 14(1)(a) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, temporarily prohibiting traffic on that length of the A78 Greenock – Prestwick Trunk Road in Greenock, known as High Street, from its junction with Buccleugh Street to the roundabout at the junction of the A78 Greenock – Prestwick Trunk Road and West Shaw Street, a distance of 320 metres or thereby; from making the following turns:

  1. All right turns from the westbound carriageway of the A78 Greenock – Prestwick Trunk Road to West Stewart Street.
  2. All right turns from West Stewart Street to the westbound carriageway of the A78 Greenock – Prestwick Trunk Road.

The Order, which is required to facilitate works for a Scottish Water flooding project, will be in operation from 18 June 2018 until 10 August 2018 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles while being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes; or a vehicle being used for carrying out the works.
