The A82 and A828 trunk roads (north and south Ballaculish) (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road) Order 2020
The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 14(1)(b) and (4) of the Road Traffic Act 1984, temporarily prohibiting traffic on the following lengths of road:
That length of the A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road from a point 148 metres or thereby south of its junction with Old Ferry Road, North Ballachulish in a general north westerly direction to a point 100 metres or thereby north of its junction with the A861 Corran Ferry Access a distance of 6.4 kilometres or thereby.
That length of the A828 Connell – South Ballachulish Trunk Road from a point 200 metres or thereby north of its junction with Old Ferry Brae, South Ballachulish in a general south westerly direction to a point 100 metres or thereby south of its junction with Cuil Bay Road, Cuil a distance of 9 kilometres or thereby.
The Order, which is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to works will be in operation from 15 October 2020 until 6 November 2020.
The A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road will be restricted from 15-18 October and 2-4 November.
The A828 Connell – South Ballachulish Trunk Road will be restricted from 16-18 October, 22-23 October and 2-5 November.
It is anticipated the restrictions will only be in operation for short periods of time (approximately 5 minute intervals) and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
The Order does not apply to vehicles being used in emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes.

An alternative route is not required.
