The A82 Trunk Road (Drumnadrochit to Fort Augustus) (Temporary Prohibition of Use of Road) Order 2020

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 14(1)(b) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, temporarily prohibiting traffic on that length of the A82 Dallnottar – Inverness Trunk Road from its junction with the A831 Beauly Road in Drumnadrochit in a generally south west and southwards direction to its junction with the unclassified road to Auchteraw and The Great Glen Way, a distance of 29.2 kilometres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to facilitate the safe movement of vehicles under police escort will be in operation from 18 October until 14 December 2020 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. It is anticipated these movements will take place on Sunday 18 October and Sunday 29 November although additional weeks have been included for contingency purposes.

The Order does not apply to vehicles while being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes; a vehicle being used to transport an abnormal load comprising of a 109T Transformer Unit, to be conveyed on an Axle Vessel Bed Trailer, or a vehicle required to escort the vehicle transporting the abnormal load.
