The A82 Trunk Road (Glencoe) (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road) (No. 2) Order 2018

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 14(1)(b) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, temporarily prohibiting traffic on:

1. The A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road from a point about 2.5 kilometres or thereby west of its junction with the ZC1094 Glen Etive Road in a generally westwards direction to a point about 3 kilometres or thereby west of the said ZC1094 Glen Etive Road Junction, a distance of 500 metres or thereby.

2. The A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road from a point about 500 metres or thereby east of its junction with the Old Glencoe and Clachaig Inn Road junction in a generally westwards direction to a point about 3.5 kilometres or thereby west of the said Old Glencoe and Clachaig Inn Road junction, a distance of 4 kilometres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to facilitate the Skyline Scotland event and to enable members of the public to watch this event, will be in operation from 16 September 2018 to 17 September 2018. The Order does not apply to vehicles while being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes or a vehicle being used to facilitate the holding of the event.

Alternative Routes

An alternative route for traffic during the prohibition is not required as restrictions will only be in place during short periods between the hours of 07:30hrs and 15:30hrs when runners cross the A82.
