The A82 Trunk Road (Glencoe Village) (Temporary Prohibition of Specified Turns and Width Restriction) Order 2017

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 14(1)(a) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, temporarily prohibiting traffic on that length of the A82 Dalnottar - Inverness Trunk Road from a point 50 metres or thereby southwest of the eastmost junction with the access road to Tigh Phuirt Glencoe northeastwards to a point 50 metres or thereby northeast of the Tigh Phuirt access road, a distance of 100 metres or thereby from making the following turns:

  • All right turns from the northeast bound carriageway of the A82 to the unclassified road leading to Tigh Phuirt, Glencoe.
  • All left turns from the southeast bound carriageway of the A82 to the unclassified road leading to Tigh Phuirt, Glencoe.
  • All right turns from the unclassified road leading from Tigh Phuirt, Glencoe to the northeast bound carriageway of the A82.
  • All left turns from the unclassified road leading from Tigh Phuirt, Glencoe to the southeast bound carriageway of the A82.

Temporarily prohibit vehicles in excess of 2.6 metres wide from using that length of the A82 Dalnottar - Inverness Trunk Road from a point 1 kilometre or thereby southeast of its junction with the B863 Kinlochleven Road north westwards to a point 300 metres or thereby southwest of that  junction, in Glencoe Village, a distance of 1.3 kilometres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to facilitate works on that length of Trunk Road, will be in operation from 18  June 2017 until 30 June 2017 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.  The Order does not apply to vehicles while being used in connection with the placing of the required signage or vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, coastguard, ambulance or police purposes or to acts done with the permission or upon the direction of a police constable in uniform.
