The A82 Trunk Road (Inverness) (Temporary Prohibition on Waiting, Loading and Unloading) Order 2026

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 14(1)(a) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, temporarily prohibiting traffic on that length of the A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road on Kenneth Street, Inverness from its junction with the U3834 Celt Street in a general southerly direction along Kenneth Street to its junction with the U4018 Greig Street, a distance of 166 metres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to facilitate utility works in the carriageway will be in operation from 12th October until 22nd October 2026, it is anticipated that the works will be completed within around eight out of the eleven days that the restrictions will be in operation, and will only have effect in relation to such length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes, or a vehicle being used for carrying out the works.

Alternative Routes

An alternative route is not required.

Narration of Statement of Compatibility

UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 Compatibility Consideration and Narration of Statement of Compatibility.

The Scottish Ministers have made the following statement regarding children’s rights.
“In accordance with section 23(2) of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 (the Act), the Scottish Ministers certify that, in their view, The A82 Trunk Road (Inverness) (Temporary Prohibition on Waiting, Loading and Unloading) Order 2026, is compatible with the UNCRC requirements as defined by section 1(2) of the Act.”
