The A83 Trunk Road (Campbeltown) (Temporary Prohibition of Specified Turns and Temporary Prohibition on Waiting, Loading and Unloading) Order 2021

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 14(1)(a) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, temporarily prohibiting specified turns, waiting, loading and unloading on that length of the A83 Tarbet – Lochgilphead – Campbeltown Trunk Road from Old Quay Roundabout, Campbeltown in a south easterly direction along Hall Street, Campbeltown to its junction with New Quay Roundabout, Campbeltown and thereafter from said junction in a north westerly direction along Hall Street, Campbeltown to its junction with Old Quay Roundabout, Campbeltown a distance of 495 metres or thereby.

Prohibition of specified turns

  1. All right turns from St John Street, Campbeltown to Hall Street, Campbeltown.
  2. All left turns from St John Street, Campbeltown to Hall Street, Campbeltown.
  3. All right turns from Hall Street, Campbeltown to St John Street, Campbeltown.
  4. All left turns from Hall Street, Campbeltown to St John Street, Campbeltown.

The Order, which is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road will be in operation from 24 May until 8 July 2021 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Access to pedestrians will be maintained at all times.

The Order does not apply to vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes, or a vehicle being used for carrying out the works.

An alternative route is not required.
