The A83 Trunk Road (Campbeltown) (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road) (No. 2) Order 2026
The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will have the effect of temporarily prohibiting traffic on that of length of the A83 Tarbet – Lochgilphead – Campbeltown Trunk Road from its junction with B842 Esplanade, Campbeltown, in a generally south easternly direction along Kinloch Road and Hall Street, Campbeltown, to its junction with the roundabout located at Campbeltown Ferry Terminal, where Hall Street and New Quay meet, a distance of 353 metres or thereby.
The Order, which is required to facilitate both the RNLI Gala Day and Campbeltown 2026 Parade, and to enable members of the public to watch and participate in these events, will be in operation from 1 August 2026 until 2 August 2026 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
It is anticipated that the prohibitions for the parade will be in force for a period of about 30 minutes and are scheduled to begin at around 12:00 hours. It is also anticipated that the prohibitions to facilitate the Gala Day on the A83 Hall Street South Bound will be in force from about 08:00 hours for a period of around 11 hours.
The Order does not apply to vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes, or a vehicle being used for facilitating the holding of the relevant event.

UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 Compatibility Consideration and Narration of Statement of Compatibility
The Scottish Ministers have made the following statement regarding children’s rights.
“In accordance with section 23(2) of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 (the Act), the Scottish Ministers certify that, in their view, The A83 Trunk Road (Campbeltown) (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road) (No. 2) Order 2026, is compatible with the UNCRC requirements as defined by section 1(2) of the Act.”
