The A83 Trunk Road (Campbeltown) (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road, Waiting, Loading and Unloading) Order 2017

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order temporarily prohibiting traffic on that length of the A83 Tarbet – Lochgilphead – Campbeltown Trunk Road from the junction with the Machrihanish Airfield access road in a southeastwards direction on the A83 Trunk Road and Tarbert Road, Campbeltown then southwards in Millknowe Road, eastwards in Aqualibrium Avenue, southeastwards in Kinloch Road and Old Quay Street roundabout, Campbeltown to its junction with the southeastbound carriageway of Hall Street then southeastwards in Hall Street to its junction with New Quay Roundabout, Campbeltown, a distance of 5.2 kilometres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to facilitate the movement of large vehicles and loads on that length of Trunk Road, will be in operation from 8 January 2018 to 1 May 2018. The prohibition on use will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as indicated by appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles while being used in an emergency for fire service, coastguard, ambulance or police purposes or to acts done with the permission or upon the direction of a police constable in uniform.

Alternative Routes

An alternative route for traffic during the prohibition is not required.
