The A83 Trunk Road (Inveraray) (Temporary Prohibition of Use, Pedestrians and Waiting, Loading and Unloading) Order 2024

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under section 62(1) of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984, which will have the effect of temporarily prohibiting use by pedestrians and traffic of, and vehicles from waiting, loading and unloading on, that length of the A83 Tarbet – Lochgilphead – Campbeltown Trunk Road from the junction of Main Street South and Main Street West, Inveraray, in a generally north easterly direction on Main Street West and Main Street East then in a north westerly direction on Front Street East to its junction with the A819, a distance of 302 metres or thereby.

The Order, which is required because considerations of public safety or convenience require, or make it desirable that traffic and foot passage should be temporarily prohibited while filming on the road takes place, will be in operation from 00:01 hours on 8th February to 00:01 hours on 15th February 2024. It is anticipated that the restrictions will only be in operation for approximately half a day during those times and in relation to such part or parts of the lengths of road as are indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

No prohibition imposed by this Order applies to a vehicle being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes, a vehicle being used in connection with the filming on the road, or a vehicle being used in connection with the placing of the required signage.

No prohibition on pedestrians imposed by this Order applies to a person while engaged in connection with ambulance, police or coastguard purposes, or for or in connection with the exercise of any function of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, while engaged in connection with the filming on the road, while engaged in connection with the placing of the required signage, or leaving a vehicle which is prevented from proceeding by circumstances beyond their control.
