The A83 Trunk Road (Lochgilphead) (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road) (No. 2) Order 2026

The Scottish Ministers hereby give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which will have the effect of temporarily prohibiting traffic on that length of the A83 Tarbet – Lochgilphead – Campbeltown Trunk Road from its junction with Lorne Street, Lochgilphead, in a generally easterly direction along Poltalloch Street and thereafter in a generally south easterly direction along Lochnell Street to its junction with Campbell Street, Lochgilphead, a distance of 410 metres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to facilitate the Lochgilphead Remembrance Service and to enable members of the public to watch this event, will be in operation from 8 November 2026 until 9 November 2026 it is anticipated that the road will be closed for approximately 50 minutes during the day and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles while being used in connection with the placing of the required signage or vehicles being used in an emergency for fire service, coastguard, ambulance or police purposes or to acts done with the permission or upon the direction of a police constable in uniform.

UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 Compatibility Consideration and Narration of Statement of Compatibility

The Scottish Ministers have made the following statement regarding children’s rights.

“In accordance with section 23(2) of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 (the Act), the Scottish Ministers certify that, in their view, the A83 Trunk Road (Lochgilphead) (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road) (No. 2) Order 2026 is compatible with the UNCRC requirements as defined by section 1(2) of the Act.”
