The A830 Trunk Road (Arisaig to Mallaig) (Temporary Prohibition On Use of Road and Temporary 30mph Speed Restriction) Order 2018

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of the Order temporarily prohibiting traffic on that length of the A830 Fort William – Mallaig Trunk Road from its junction with the access road to Arisaig House and Borrodale House, Druimindarroch, South of Mallaig in a generally northwesterly and northerly direction to its junction with Harbour Road Roundabout, Mallaig, a distance of 16 kilometres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to facilitate the running of the Isles Half Marathon and associated events and to enable members of the public to watch these events, will be in operation from 12 May 2018 to the 13 May 2018 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes; or a vehicle being used for facilitating the holding of the relevant event; or anything done with the permission or upon the direction of a police constable in uniform.

Alternative Routes

An alternative route for traffic during the prohibition is not required.
