The A830 Trunk Roads (Banvie and Corpach) (Temporary 20mph and 30mph Speed Restrictions) Order 2023

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1), 4(1) and 14(1)(b) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will have the effect of imposing a temporary 20mph and 30mph speed restrictions on the following lengths of road:-

20mph Speed Restriction

That length of the A830 Fort William – Mallaig Trunk Road at Corpach from a point 12.5 metres west of the extended western kerb line of Farrow Drive to a point approximately 77 metres west of the extended western kerb line of Hillview Drive, a total distance of 600 metres or thereby.

30mph Speed Restriction

That length of the A830 Fort William - Mallaig Trunk Road from its junction with the A82 Dalnottar to Inverness Trunk Road, including the Blar Mhor roundabout, in a westerly direction to a point 42 metres west of the extended western kerb line of the west entrance to the Saw Mill, Corpach, a distance of 4.557 kilometres or thereby.

The Order, which is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public will be in operation from 1st November 2023 until 1st May 2025 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations, or vehicles being used in an emergency for coastguard purposes.

Alternative Routes

An alternative route for traffic is not required.
