The A835 and A893 Trunk Road (Tore – Ullapool) (Temporary Prohibition of Use, Pedestrians and Waiting, Loading and Unloading) Order 2020

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 14(1)(a) and (4) of the Road Traffic Act 1984, temporarily prohibiting use, pedestrians and waiting, loading and unloading on that length of the A835/A893 Tore - Ullapool Trunk Road from its junction with the A835 Mill Street, Ullapool in a general westerly direction on the A893 Shore Street, Ullapool to its junction with Quay Street, Ullapool a total distance of 318 metres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to facilitate investigative footway works for the purpose of informing future design detail of the Promenade Improvement Project, will be in operation from 8 July until 9 July 2020. Restrictions on the road and footway will only be in operation for minimal periods during these times. Pedestrian access to properties and businesses will be maintained at all times, and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles while being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes. No prohibition on pedestrians imposed by this Order applies to a person while carrying out any duty in relation to the maintenance or improvement of the trunk road; while carrying out any duty in connection with the removal of any obstruction to traffic; while engaged in connection with, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes, or for or in connection with the exercise of any function of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service or leaving a vehicle which is prevented from proceeding by circumstances beyond their control.
