The A835/A893 Trunk Road (Ullapool) (Temporary 20mph Speed Restriction) Order 2023

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1), 4(1) and 14(1)(b) and (4)  of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will have the effect of imposing a temporary 20mph speed restriction on that length of the A835/A893 Tore – Ullapool Trunk Road from a point 207 metres or thereby east of the extended west kerbline of the A835 Mill Street at its junction with Shore Street, in a westerly direction to a point 60 metres or thereby west of the extended west kerbline of the U3904 Quay Street at its junction with Shore Street and West Shore Street, a distance of 583 metres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to facilitate 20mph speed limits on the local road network and for road safety on that length of A835/A893 Trunk Road, will be in operation from 24th July 2023 until 23rd January 2025 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

No speed restriction imposed by this Order applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011(a)when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations, or vehicles being used in an emergency for coastguard purposes.
