The A84 Trunk Road (Blair Drummond) (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road and Temporary 30mph Speed Restriction) Order 2023

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will have the effect of  imposing a temporarily prohibiting traffic and temporary 30mph speed restriction on the following lengths of road:

Prohibition on Use of Road:

That length of the A84/A85 Stirling – Crianlarich Trunk Road from its junction with B8075 Kirk Lane, in a northerly direction to its junction with A873, a distance of 316.89 metres or thereby.

Speed Restriction:

That length of the A84/A85 Stirling – Crianlarich Trunk Road from a point 174 metres or thereby north of its junction with U220157 Cuthill Brae, in a southerly direction to its junction with U020480 Sommers Lane, a distance of 1.8 kilometres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to facilitate the UCI World Championship 2023 and to enable members of the public to participate in this event, will be in operation from the 8th August until 12th August 2023 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to a vehicle being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes, a vehicle being used for facilitating the holding of the relevant event or vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations, or vehicles being used in an emergency for coastguard purposes.
