The A85 (Perth to Methven) M9/A9 (Pitlochry) Trunk Roads (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road) Order 2023

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, temporarily prohibiting traffic on the following lengths of road:

  1. That length of the A85 Perth – Lochearnhead Trunk Road from its junction with Newhouse Road Roundabout, Perth generally westwards to its junction with C409 Methven, a distance of 6.03 kilometres or thereby.
  2. That length of the A85 Perth – Lochearnhead Trunk Road known as the West Connector, from its junction with the northbound off slip of the A9 Perth generally northwards to its junction with B9993, Perth, a distance of 435 metres or thereby.
  3. That length of the M9/A9 Edinburgh – Stirling – Thurso Trunk Road being the northbound on slip road leading from A924, north of Pitlochry, a distance of 47 metres or thereby.
  4. That length of the M9/A9 Edinburgh – Stirling – Thurso Trunk Road being the northbound off slip road leading to A924, north of Pitlochry, a distance of 203 metres or thereby.
  1. That length of the M9/A9 Edinburgh – Stirling – Thurso Trunk Road being the southbound off slip road leading to A924, north of Pitlochry, a distance of 575 metres or thereby.
  2. That length of the M9/A9 Edinburgh – Stirling – Thurso Trunk Road being the southbound on slip road leading from A924, north of Pitlochry, a distance of 338 metres or thereby.
  3. That length of the M9/A9 Edinburgh – Stirling – Thurso Trunk Road being the northbound off slip road leading to the A85 Perth from its junction with the A9 northbound carriageway to its junction with the A85 Crieff Road, Perth, a distance of 177 metres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to facilitate the UCI World Championship 2023 and to enable members of the public to participate in this event, will be in operation from 4th August 2023 until 5th August 2023 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes or a vehicle being used for facilitating the holding of the relevant event.
