The A85 Trunk Road (Crianlarich) (30mph and Part Time 20mph Speed Limit) Order 201[ ]

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they propose to make the above Order under sections 82(2)(a), 83(1), 84(1)(a) and (c) and 124(1)(d) of, and paragraph 27 of, schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which will have the effect of imposing a 30mph speed limit and 20mph part-time speed limit on the following lengths of road:

30mph speed limit

That length of the A85 Stirling – Crianlarich Trunk Road at Crianlarich, from a point 214 metres or thereby west of its junction with the extended centreline of Willow Brae, eastwards, to a point 354 metres or thereby east of its junction with the extended centreline of Meadow Grove, a distance of 1.041 kilometres or thereby.

20mph part time speed limit

That length of the A85 Stirling – Crianlarich Trunk Road at Crianlarich, from a point 59 metres or thereby east of its junction with the extended centreline of Meadow Grove, westwards, to a point 206 metres or thereby west of that junction, a distance of 265 metres or thereby.

The A82/A85 Trunk Road Crianlarich (30mph Speed Limit) and Crianlarich Primary School (Part-time 20mph Speed Limit) Order 2010 (SSI 2010/281) is revoked by this Order.

Full details of the proposal are contained in the Order which, together with a plan showing the length of road involved, statement of the Scottish Ministers’ reasons for proposing to make the Order and copy of the Order being revoked, may be examined free of charge during normal business hours from 4 May 2018 until 4 June 2018 at the offices of:

Any person wishing to object to the proposed Order should send details of the grounds for objection in writing to the Director of Trunk Road and Bus Operations, c/o Scott Danks, Transport Scotland, Buchanan House, 58 Port Dundas Road, Glasgow, G4 0HF quoting reference A85/NW/SD by 4 June 2018.

Statement of reasons

The Scottish Ministers are satisfied that promoting 30mph and part time 20mph Speed Limits on the A85 Stirling – Crianlarich Trunk Road, and revoking the current 30mph and part time 20mph Speed Limits on the A82/A85 Trunk Road Crianlarich, are in the interests of safety on the Trunk Road adjacent to Crianlarich Primary School.

In addition to and as a result of completion of the Crianlarich Bypass, it is deemed necessary to revise the extents of these speed limits.
