The A85 Trunk Road (Crieff and Comrie) (Temporary 20mph Speed Restriction) Order 2023

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1), 4(1) and 14(1)(b) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will have the effect of imposing a 20mph speed restriction on the following lengths of road -

1. The length of the A85 Perth – Lochearnhead Trunk Road being Comrie Street, Crieff from its junction with Comrie Road, Crieff south-eastwards then north-eastwards to its junction with Leadenflower Street, Crieff a distance of 647 metres or thereby.

2. The length of the A85 Perth – Lochearnhead Trunk Road from a point 36 metres or thereby south-east of the junction with Monument Road, Comrie south-eastwards then north-eastwards to a point 165 metres or thereby north-east of the junction with Nurses Lane, Comrie a distance of 718 metres or thereby.

The Order, which is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public on that length of A85 Trunk Road, will be in operation from 15th September 2023 until 15th March 2025 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations; or vehicles being used in an emergency for coastguard purposes.
