The A85 Trunk Road (Laggan Park To Bridge Street, Comrie) (Temporary Prohibition on Use Of Road) Order 2018

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, temporarily prohibiting traffic on that length of The A85 Perth – Lochearnhead Trunk Road from the junction with the entrance to Laggan Park, Comrie westwards to the junction with Bridge Street, Comrie, a distance of 550 metres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to facilitate events taking place during the Comrie Fortnight Festival and to enable members of the public to watch the events, will be in operation from 21st July 2018 until 5th August 2018 but will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. 

It is anticipated that the restrictions will be in place for a period of no longer than 30 minutes to facilitate the following events:

a)         Saturday 21st July at 6.30 pm Comrie Pipe Band Parade.

b)         Saturday 28th July at 6.30 pm Comrie Pipe Band Parade.

c)         Saturday 4th August at 1.00 pm Comrie Float Parade.

d)         Saturday 4th August at 6.45 pm Comrie Pipe Band Parade.

The Order does not apply to vehicles while being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes; or a vehicle being used to facilitate the holding of the relevant event.

An alternative route for traffic during the restriction is not required.
