The A85 Trunk Road (St Fillans) (Temporary 20mph Speed Restriction) Order 2025

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1), 4(1) and 14(1)(b) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will have the effect of imposing a temporary 20mph speed restriction on that length of the A85 Perth - Lochearnhead Trunk Road at St Fillans from a point 20 metres or thereby east of the extended centreline of Station Road to a point 112 metres or thereby west of the extended centreline of Manse Lane, a distance of 800 metres or thereby.

The Order, which is required in the interests of road safety, to implement the National Strategy for 20mph and to coordinate with local authority 20mph plans on non-trunk roads, will be in operation from 21st July 2025 until 21st January 2027, and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations; or vehicles being used in an emergency for coastguard purposes.

UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 Compatibility Consideration and Narration of Statement of Compatibility

The Scottish Ministers have made the following statement regarding children’s rights.
“In accordance with section 23(2) of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 (the Act), the Scottish Ministers certify that, in their view, the A85 Trunk Road (St Fillans) (Temporary 20mph Speed Restriction) Order 2025 is compatible with the UNCRC requirements as defined by section 1(2) of the Act.”
