The A86 Trunk Road (Kingussie) (20mph, 30mph and 40mph Speed Limits) Order 2026
The Scottish Ministers hereby give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 82(2)(a) and (b), 83(1), 84(1)(a) and 124(1)(d) of and paragraph 27 of schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order is as described in the Strathspey & Badenoch Herald, dated 12 November 2025 and the Edinburgh Gazette Issue Number 29196, dated 14 November 2025. The Order comes into force on Wednesday 25 March 2026.
A copy of the Order as made and the relevant plan may be inspected free of charge until 28th April 2026 at the offices of Transport Scotland, Fifth Floor, 177 Bothwell Street, Glasgow, G2 7ER and Badenoch Library, Badenoch Centre, Spey Street, Kingussie, PH21 1EH.

Narration of Statement of Compatibility
The Scottish Ministers have made the following statement regarding children’s rights:
“In accordance with section 23(2) of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 (the Act), the Scottish Ministers certify that, in their view, the A86 Trunk Road (Kingussie) (20mph, 30mph and 40mph Speed Limits) Order 2026 is compatible with the UNCRC requirements as defined by section 1(2) of the Act.”
