The A86 Trunk Road (Newtonmore) (20mph and 30mph Speed Limits) Order 2025

The Scottish Ministers hereby give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 82(2)(a) and (b), 83(1), 84(1)(a) and 124(1)(d) of and paragraph 27 of schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the Order is as described in the Strathspey & Badenoch Herald, dated 20 March 2025 and the Edinburgh Gazette Issue Number 29095, dated 21 March 2025. The Order comes into force on Friday 1 August 2025.

A copy of the Order as made and the relevant plan may be inspected free of charge until 4th September 2025 at the offices of Transport Scotland, Fifth Floor, 177 Bothwell Street, Glasgow, G2 7ER, Badenoch Library, Badenoch Centre, Spey Street, Kingussie, PH21 1EH and Co-op Food Newtonmore, Main Street, Newtonmore, PH20 1DR.

UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 Compatibility Consideration and Narration of Statement of Compatibility

The Scottish Ministers have made the following statement regarding children’s rights.

“In accordance with section 23(2) of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 (the Act), the Scottish Ministers certify that, in their view, the A86 Trunk Road (Newtonmore) (20mph and 30mph Speed Limits) Order 2025 is compatible with the UNCRC requirements as defined by section 1(2) of the Act.”
