The A86 Trunk Road (Spean Bridge) (20mph Speed Limit) Order 2025

The Scottish Ministers hereby give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 84(1)(a) and (c) and 124(1)(d) of and paragraph 27 schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the Order is as described in the West Highland Free Press dated 28th March 2025 and The Edinburgh Gazette, dated 28th March 2025 Issue number 29098. The Order comes into force on Friday 1st August 2025.

A copy of the Order as made and the relevant plan may be inspected free of charge until 4th September 2025 at Spar Speanbridge, Inverness, A82 Station Rd, Spean Bridge, PH34 4EP and at the offices of Transport Scotland, Fifth Floor, 177 Bothwell Street Glasgow G2 7ER. A copy of the Order and this Notice will be available on the Transport Scotland website at: https://www.transport.gov.scot/NorthWestRoadOrders

UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 Compatibility Consideration and Narration of Statement of Compatibility

The Scottish Ministers have made the following statement regarding children’s rights.

“In accordance with section 23(2) of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 (the Act), the Scottish Ministers certify that, in their view, the A86 Trunk Road (Spean Bridge) (20mph Speed Limit) Order 2025 is compatible with the UNCRC requirements as defined by section 1(2) of the Act.”
