The A898 and A82 Trunk Roads (Erskine Bridge at Clydebank to Old Kilpatrick) (Temporary 10mph Speed Restriction) Order 2020

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they propose to make the above Order under sections 2(1), 4(1), 14(1)(a) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which will have the effect of imposing a 10mph speed limit on the following lengths of road:

1. That length of the A898 Erskine Bridge Trunk Road being the northbound off slip road to the southbound A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road, a distance of 620 metres or thereby.

2.That length of the A898 Erskine Bridge Trunk Road being the southbound on slip road from the southbound A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road, a distance of 510 metres or thereby.

3. That length of the A898 Erskine Bridge Trunk Road being the northbound off slip road to the northbound A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road, a distance of 450 metres or thereby.

4. That length of the A898 Erskine Bridge Trunk Road being the southbound on slip road from the northbound A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road, a distance of 260 metres or thereby.

5. That length of the A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road being the north and southbound carriageway from the point where it crosses under Mountblow Road, Clydebank to where it meets Dunglass Roundabout, Old Kilpatrick a distance of 4.6 kilometres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to facilitate works on the trunk road, will be in operation from 9 March until 15 March 2020 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs and when there is a system of convoy working in place to carry out the works.  

The Order does not apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations; or vehicles being used in an emergency for coastguard purposes.

Alternative routes

An alternative route for traffic during the restriction is not required.
