The A90 Trunk Road (Kingsway, Dundee) (Temporary Prohibition of Specified Turns) Order 2025

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 14(1)(a) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will have the effect of prohibiting traffic from making specified left turns to and from that length of the M90/A90/A9000 Edinburgh – Fraserburgh Trunk Road known as Kingsway in Dundee, (“the A90”) being the eastbound main carriageway from a point 130 metres or thereby east of the Strathmartine Roundabout eastwards to a point 40 metres or thereby west of its junction with Clive Road, Dundee, a distance of 4 metres or thereby.

Specified turns

1. All left turns from the road parallel to the eastbound main carriageway of the A90 at 349 Kingsway, to the eastbound main carriageway of the A90.

2. All left turns from the eastbound main carriageway of the A90 to the road parallel to the eastbound main carriageway of the A90 at 349 Kingsway.

The Order, which is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road, will be in operation from 9 June 2025 until 1 April 2026 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes or vehicles being used for carrying out the works.

UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 Compatibility Consideration and Narration of Statement of Compatibility

The Scottish Ministers have made the following statement regarding children’s rights.

“In accordance with section 23(2) of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 (the Act), the Scottish Ministers certify that, in their view, The A90 Trunk Road (Kingsway, Dundee) (Temporary Prohibition of Specified Turns) Order 2025, is compatible with the UNCRC requirements as defined by section 1(2) of the Act.”
