The M74/A74 Trunk Road (Carmyle to Daldowie) (Temporary 50mph Speed Restriction) Order 2020

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1), 4(1) and 14(1)(b) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will have the effect of imposing a 50mph speed restriction on that length of the M74/A74(M) Glasgow – Carlisle Trunk Road being the southbound and northbound carriageways from a point immediately above the central support of the overbridge at Junction 3 (Carmyle) to a point 600 metres or thereby north of the west side of Junction 3A (Daldowie), Daldowie Drive underbridge, a distance of 2.4 kilometres or thereby.

The Order, which is required for safety of the travelling public will be in operation from 1 December 2020 until 30 September 2021 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations; or vehicles being used in an emergency for coastguard purposes.
