The M77/A77 Trunk Road (Girvan to Lendalfoot) (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road) Order 2025

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 14(1)(a) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(a), which will have the effect temporarily prohibiting traffic on that length of the M77/A77 Glasgow – Stranraer Trunk Road being the layby on the left-hand side of the northbound carriageway from a point 2.52 kilometres or thereby north of its north junction with Carleton Crescent, to a point 2.55 kilometres or thereby north of its north junction with Carleton Crescent, a distance of 30 metres or thereby

The Order, which is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road, will be in operation from 1 October 2025 until 10 March 2027 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles while being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes or a vehicle being used for carrying out the works.

Statement of Compatibility

In accordance with section 23(2) of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 (the Act), the Scottish Ministers certify that, in their view, the A85 Trunk Road (Oban) (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road) Order 2025 is compatible with the UNCRC requirements as defined by section 1(2) of the Act.
