The M8, M73, M74 Motorway Improvements (Newhouse) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic and Overtaking and Temporary Speed Restrictions) Order 2017

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 14(1)(a) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(a) temporarily prohibiting traffic, overtaking and restricting the speed of vehicles on the following length of road:

  • That length of newly constructed carriageway from the point it diverges from the circulatory carriageway of the Bo’ness Road north roundabout to the point where it intersects with the circulatory carriageway of the Bo’ness Road south roundabout, a distance of 614 metres or thereby.

The Order, which is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the lengths of road will be in force from 28th April 2017 until 31st August 2017 and the prohibitions and restriction contained in the Order will only have effect in relation to such lengths of road specified above when indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. The Order does not apply to vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes, vehicles being driven by the special forces for training or national security purposes or to vehicles while being used in connection with the works.

Alternative routes for the traffic during the prohibition will be signposted.
