The M8/A8 Trunk Road (Craigton to St James Interchange) (Temporary Vehicle Width Restriction) Order 2019

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1), and 14(1)(a) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, temporarily restricting vehicles exceeding 2 metres wide on that length of the M8/A8 – Edinburgh – Greenock Trunk Road:

Being the Westbound carriageway from a point 2.2 kilometres or thereby west of Junction 29 (St James Interchange) on ramp to the off ramp at Junction 30 (Craigton) a distance of 2.5 kilometres or thereby.

Being the Eastbound from the off Slip of Junction 30 (Craigton) to a point 2.2 kilometres or thereby west of Junction 29 (St James Interchange) off ramp a distance of 2.5 kilometres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to facilitate works on that length of trunk road, will be in operation from 22 May 2019 until 31 October 2019 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to a vehicle while being used in an emergency for fire brigade, coastguard, ambulance or police purposes or to a vehicle being used for carrying out the works.
