The M8/A8 Trunk Road (Starlaw to Heartlands) (Temporary Weight Restriction) Order 2019

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1), and 14(1)(a) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, temporarily restricting vehicles over 7.5 tonnes in weight on the following lengths of the M8/A8 Edinburgh – Greenock Trunk Road:

1. The eastbound carriageway from the on slip road at Junction 4A (Heartlands) to the on slip road at Junction 3A (Starlaw), a distance of 7.4 kilometres or thereby.

2. The westbound carriageway from the on slip road at Junction 3A (Starlaw) to the off slip road at Junction 4A (Heartlands), a distance of 6.6 kilometres or thereby.

The Order will be in operation from 12 October 2019 until 20 December 2019, but will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of that length of road as are indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes.
