The M9/A9 Trunk Road (Helmsdale) (20mph and 30mph Speed Limits) Order 2025

The Scottish Ministers hereby give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 82(2)(a) and (b), 83(1), 84(1)(a) and 124(1)(d) of and paragraph 27 of schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the Order is as described in The Northern Times, dated 7thMarch 2025 and the Edinburgh Gazette Issue Number 29089, dated 7 March 2025. The Order comes into force on Thursday 1 May 2025.

A copy of the Order as made and the relevant plan may be inspected free of charge until 5th June 2025 at the offices of Transport Scotland, Fifth Floor, 177 Bothwell Street, Glasgow, G2 7ER, Spar/Post Office Counters Helmsdale, 2-4 Dunrobin St, Helmsdale, KW8 6JA and Helmsdale Library and Community Centre, Dunrobin Street, Helmsdale KW8 6JX.

UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 Compatibility Consideration and Narration of Statement of Compatibility

The Scottish Ministers have made the following statement regarding children’s rights.

“In accordance with section 23(2) of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 (the Act), the Scottish Ministers certify that, in their view, the M9/A9 Trunk Road (Helmsdale) (20mph and 30mph Speed Limits) Order 2025 is compatible with the UNCRC requirements as defined by section 1(2) of the Act.”
