The M9/A90/M90 Trunk Road (Crimond) (Temporary 20mph Speed Restriction) Order 2025

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1), 4(1) and 14(1)(b) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(a), which will impose a temporary 20mph speed restriction on that length of the M9/A90/M90 Edinburgh – Fraserburgh Trunk Road at Crimond from a point 172 metres or thereby northwest of the extended centre line of the junction with Logie Road in a generally eastwardly direction to a point 150 metres or thereby east of the extended centre line of the junction with Starnafin Road, a distance of 602 metres or thereby.

The Order, which is required in the interest of road safety, will be in operation from 22nd September 2025 until 22nd March 2027 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations, or vehicles being used in an emergency for coastguard purposes.

UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 Compatibility Consideration and Narration of Statement of Compatibility

The Scottish Ministers have made the following statement regarding children’s rights. 

In accordance with section 23(2) of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 (the Act), the Scottish Ministers certify that, in their view, the M9/A90/M90 Trunk Road (Crimond) (Temporary 20mph Speed Restriction) Order 2025 is compatible with the UNCRC requirements as defined by section 1(2) of the Act.
