A9 Dualling: Tomatin to Moy – Road re-alignment works at various locations north of the project

For five weeks, from 7 July, overnight temporary traffic lights and a convoy system will be introduced on the A9 at various locations between Moy rail bridge and the start of the existing dual carriageway. This is to facilitate road re-alignment works which will prepare the area for culvert installations as part of dualling construction work whilst also widening the road and installing updated road markings. The temporary traffic lights and convoy system will be in operation between the hours of 7:30pm and 6am.

Road users will be stopped at the temporary traffic lights and be led through the works by convoy at a reduced speed limit. This is to ensure the safety of road users and the workforce. Once a road user has passed the temporary traffic lights, they can continue their journey at the signposted speed limit.

These works will be carried out at various locations over the 5 week period between Moy Rail Bridge and the start of the dual carriageway, approximately 1.5 miles south of the B815 turn off to Fort Augustus.

This work has been scheduled to take place overnight to safely manage traffic flows and minimise disruption to road users.

Pedestrian and emergency access will be maintained at all times.

Road users are advised to approach the area with care and allow extra time for their journeys whilst these works are undertaken.

This planned traffic management is weather dependent and subject to change, please refer to the Traffic Scotland website for updates.
