A9 Dualling: Tomatin to Moy - Traffic management changes - Lynebeg Realignment
For approximately two weeks, from 7 August, overnight temporary traffic signals and a convoy system will be introduced on the A9 at Lynebeg and around the B9154 junction to Moy. Works will take place between 7:30pm and 6am each evening.
The temporary traffic signals will be in place on the A9 at Lynebeg for approximately one week from Thursday 7 August, to allow the workforce to safely undertake works to temporarily realign the A9 to allow for the construction of an underpass. Temporary traffic signals will also be in place for approximately one week on the A9 at the B9154 junction to Moy from Monday 11 August to facilitate completion of the temporary diversion of the National Cycle Network (NCN7) which is being diverted during construction of the A9 Dualling between Tomatin and Moy.
A 30mph speed reduction will be in place on approach to both temporary traffic light locations and a convoy system will guide road users through the works during the overnight works. No works will be taking place on Sunday evenings.
Realignment of the A9 at Lynebeg and new access junction
From 15 August, both lanes of the A9 will be temporarily realigned at Lynebeg. This is required to allow for the construction of a new underpass at Lynebeg, and the realignment will remain in place until the completion of this underpass in approximately Autumn 2027. The existing access junction to Lynebeg will also be closed from 15 August, with a new temporary junction for Lynebeg residents off the A9 slightly further north also becoming operational on that date. This will be clearly signposted.
The map below illustrates the realignment and location of the new junction:

As part of the realignment at Lynebeg, the existing non-motorised user (NMU) route at Lynebeg will be partially diverted. Full details of this diversion can be found on the A9 Dualling website.
Road users are advised to approach the area the care and allow extra time for their journeys whilst these works are undertaken.
This planned realignment is weather dependent and subject to change, please refer to the Traffic Scotland website for updates.
