Overnight temporary traffic management on A9 between Tay Crossing and Ballinluig junction
For four nights, from Monday 6 October, overnighttemporary traffic management including temporary traffic signals will be introduced on the A9 at various locations, between the Tay Crossing and the Ballinluig junction. This is to undertake preparatory work for the diversion of utility cables in preparation for the upcoming dualling works between Tay Crossing and Ballinluig.
- Monday 6 October – a lane closure on the A9 dual carriageway section at Ballinluig for approx. 600 metres.
- Tuesday 7 – Thursday 9 October – 2-way manned traffic signals installed with a lane closure of approx. 150 metres.
The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled and in operation between the hours of 10pm and 5am with work being carried out on one lane of the carriageway at a time.
The installation of traffic management is to ensure the safety of road users and the workforce. It has been scheduled to take place overnight to manage traffic flows and minimise disruption to road users, including those travelling to Pitlochry to attend the Enchanted Forest events.
Road users are advised to approach the area with care and allow extra time for their journeys whilst these works are undertaken.
This planned traffic management is weather dependent and subject to change, please refer to the Traffic Scotland website for updates.
