Overnight temporary traffic signals on the A9, Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 December

Road users are advised that maintenance and repair works will take place on the A9 carriageway between the Tomatin North junction and the start of the existing dual carriageway, approximately 1.5 miles south of the B815 junction to Fort Augustus for two nights from Wednesday 10 December 2025.

To allow these works to proceed safely an overnight lane closure will be in place between 7pm Wednesday 10 December and 6am Thursday 11 December and between 7pm Thursday 11 December and 6am Friday 12 December. Traffic signals will be in place to manage traffic through the lane closure, which will be limited to short 100 metre sections of carriageway. Road users are asked to note that the location of the lane closure will vary during these periods as works progress. The traffic signals will be manned at all times to manage traffic flow and access for emergency vehicles and non-motorised users at crossing points will be maintained at all times.

These works are essential to facilitate repair and maintenance of the A9 carriageway and to ensure the safety of the workforce, who will be operating in close proximity to live traffic. Please note that the schedule is subject to change in the event of poor weather conditions.
