Two overnight closures of M8 east and westbound carriageways between Junction 8 Baillieston off and on slip roads

Road users are advised that the M8 east and westbound carriageways between Junction 8 Baillieston off and on slip roads will each be closed overnight for one night consecutively, commencing Wednesday 12 July 2023. The closures are required for bridge inspection works and have been scheduled overnight to minimise disruption to traffic. The closures are necessary  to ensure road user and road worker safety.

The works are scheduled as follows:

Wednesday 12 July (1 night): The M8 eastbound carriageway between Junction 8 Baillieston off slip road and Junction 8 Baillieston on slip road, will be closed overnight for one night commencing at 8pm. The road will open at 6am the following day.

Thursday 13 July (1 night): The M8 westbound carriageway between Junction 8 Baillieston off slip road and Junction 8 Baillieston on slip road, will be closed for one night commencing at 8pm. The road will open at 6am the following day.

Only one direction of the M8 carriageway, east or westbound, will be closed at any given time.

Signed diversion routes will be in place during the closures. Road users are encouraged to plan ahead and check Traffic Scotland prior to travelling on these evenings to check their route.

The works will be carried out by Scottish Roads Partnership on behalf of Transport Scotland to maintain the integrity and safety of this route. The works have been planned in consultation with Transport Scotland and Police Scotland.

Please note, all works are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
