A9 Dualling Programme Delivery Team Lead

The A9 Dualling Delivery team within Transport Scotland’s Major Projects Directorate Transport Scotland is responsible for procurement and construction including contract management of the A9 Dualling Programme.  

It is an exciting time for the team as we set the ground works to enable delivery of the Scottish Governments A9 Dualling Delivery plan to complete the A9 Dualling between Perth and Inverness by 2035.
 
To help us deliver our responsibilities we are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced applicant to fill a team leader role within our A9 Dualling delivery team in the Major Projects Directorate. 

 The post holder will be responsible for the following:

• Procuring certain works, services and supplies contracts with overall responsibility for managing the various stages of the procurement process from the development of the procurement strategy to contract award, alongside contract implementation and management in line with relevant Public Procurement Legislation.
• Leading and developing teams (both internally and externally) to ensure objectives are delivered. This will include major works and service contractors, as well as those providing advice on matters such as due diligence, contract changes, claims and negotiation and, if necessary, dispute resolution procedures.
• Developing and maintaining close links with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including a wide range of business areas in Transport Scotland and the Scottish Government, alongside direct liaison with Ministers and senior management.
•  Promoting sustainability through the delivery of major projects and services.
• Assisting and briefing senior staff and Ministers; attending engagements where necessary; this involves deputising during events or meetings where necessary.
• Responsible for preparing all necessary briefings and dealing with correspondence relating to projects within the portfolio.
