Using the CIHT Professional Development Framework, this program offers an exceptional opportunity to develop your skills and achieve Chartered status with the CIHT, preparing you for senior roles in the industry.  These roles are expected to start in September 2026.

Since 2006, our Graduate Training Scheme has successfully guided graduates to become Chartered Transport Planning Professionals. Designed for the CIHT Standard route to chartership, it provides tailored, focused development from day one, helping to nurture 'in-house' talent for possible future senior positions within Transport Scotland.

Graduates enter a Training Agreement with Transport Scotland, outlining responsibilities and aligning with the Professional Body’s Training Scheme. Progress is tracked through the CIHT’s Professional Development Framework, ensuring graduates are on track to meet the CIHT competencies and achieve professional qualification.
