Engaging with the public

When the COVID pandemic hit in March 2020, the restrictions placed on all of our lives meant we were unable to hold face-to-face public exhibitions in venues near the road being upgraded.

As part of the work to consider how we could engage in the future with the public in a new way, we held a virtual exhibition to consider how we could still get the vital views of the public to help inform our plans.

The exhibition offered an opportunity to view some new digital initiatives. This included the combined work of our consultants who developed a story map and data vault website to provide information about the A9 Dualling schemes.

We developed a story map for this virtual future public engagement exhibition and it is still available in PDF format for viewing and printing:

Feedback on this virtual exhibition

This exhibition closed on 24 September 2020 and we have now published details of our findings in a website report.

Building on the feedback from the public and the clear public support for using virtual exhibitions, whilst at the same time recognising the benefits of holding face-to-face public exhibitions, we have developed a hybrid model of holding public exhibitions and at the same time publishing a virtual exhibition on our website.

This arrangement provides much more access and opportunity for the public to engage with us at a time of their choosing, while still providing the personal touch for those wanting to meet the project team face-to-face.
