Temporary traffic lights on A737 expected to cause delays

Four-way temporary traffic lights will be in operation at the junction of the A737, C99 and Auchengree Road, near Highfield.

These will be in place from 6am on Monday, 23 October, until 11pm on Thursday, 26 October.

Traffic management is needed to move water pipes to make way for the new road.

Transport Scotland Project Manager Gavin Dyet said:

“We are working closely with the project contractor to ensure that every effort is made to minimise disruption during these essential works. However, in order to maintain the safety of road users and road workers, it will be necessary to introduce traffic management.

“The A737 is used by around 8,000 vehicles a day so the temporary traffic lights are likely to cause a significant impact.

“We would urge drivers to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys. We thank road users, in advance, for their patience whilst these essential works are carried out.”
