This Project delivered significant journey time improvements and greater connectivity for both passenger and freight services operating on the Aberdeen to Inverness rail corridor. Improvement works at the west end (Forres and Elgin) were successfully commissioned in October 2017. Construction works at the east end (Aberdeen to Inverurie and Insch) commenced in December 2017, with the project completed in December 2019.
