Scotlands Railway: Investing in trains
The passenger experience relies on good quality trains and services. That is why Scotland’s Railway is investing significantly in areas such as:
- 180 modern electric carriages across the central belt since summer 2018
- providing more seats and better journey times than ever before across many routes
- 26 fully refurbished high-speed trains offering 40% more seats to our seven cities network
- rolling out 75 new hotel-class Caledonian Sleeper coaches
This is all making rail travel a more attractive option as passenger numbers continue to grow.
