In Depth Discussion - SQUIRE

  • Overall findings are what was expected at this early stage of SQUIRE returning. Staff are in the process of changing their focus from COVID activities such as touch point cleaning to SQUIRE requirements.
  • Shelters and toilets that have previously been closed are starting to reopen as risk assessments and enhanced cleaning is undertaken where required.
  • PA/CIS is a mixture of locations with failures. One station will have the PA not operational and another the CIS. Process being developed to understand any issues
  • Help points are performing well operationally but failures are predominantly missing stickers which are being replaced.
  • TVM’s appear not to be performing, when operationally they are, similar to HP it is missing stickers and these are being replaced.
  • Vegetation is another area which is now covered with a specific category Network Rail faults - Tripping hazards and lifts & escalators will be managed under the SQMS. Going forward areas under the station access agreement which clearly states what the TOC and what Network Rail are responsible for.
  • Both teams are continuing to work together and meet to discuss and areas of clarity within the new regimes.

Issues of the Moment

SP noted IR issues were the main focus at the moment, although not much could be added in this forum. Mobilisation for ScotRail Trains Ltd and operational requirements along with the IR issues are competing work streams. The business plan should be submitted by the end of the month.
