1. Sample size is those who answered yes to previous question asking whether respondent had flown for work or business purposes in the last 12 months.
2. Question asked in alternate years from 2014 to 2018, and will be asked in alternate years from 2019
3. There are some very slight changes to figures published up to 2017 as those who replied 'don't know' or refused to answer have now been excluded.
4.There were errors in initially published figures for 2016. They have now been corrected.
* Note mean value can be dragged up by a handful of respondents reporting making a large number of flights eg in 2010. The median is generally cosidered a better measure of the average.
