No reportable activity occurred within the meaning of section 21 of the TAWS Act in the 2018/19 reporting period and therefore there is no requirement to lay a Report before the Scottish Parliament for this period.

Strathspey Railway Charitable Trust Proposed Extension

The Scottish Ministers received a pre-application submission and draft environmental statement on 14th March 2019 from the Strathspey Railway Charitable Trust for a proposed extension of the Strathspey Heritage Railway from Broomhill to Grantown-on-Spey in accordance with rule 3 of the TAWS Act (Application and Objections Procedure) Rules 2007.

Following a review of the pre-application submission by the TAWS Unit at Transport Scotland, the Trust were provided with some technical comments and observations to their pre-application documents by the TAWS Unit on 17th May 2019 in relation to the following documents.

i)     The draft Strathspey Railway Charitable Trust (Broomhill to Grantown-on-Spey) Order[ ]
ii)    The draft Explanatory Memorandum
iii)   The Planning Application Supporting Statement
iv)   The draft Memorandum of Aims and Proposals
v)    The Statement and memorandum on Legislative Competence
vi)   The draft Environmental Statement
